Fall at Childs Park

Postby Roman Kurywczak on Mon Nov 02, 2009 1:24 pm

This image was taken a few weeks ago at Childs Falls SP during one of my small workshops. It was raining/sleeting slightly but no one seemed to mind as the conditions made for some great photography. Showing participants how to control the glare and bright spots was the most fun!
Canon 1D Mark lll and the 17-40mm lens at 23mm for 30 sec. at f22 all tripod mounted.Image

Beautiful fall textures and colours. May be I wish to see a little bit more of the superior forest.

Welcome to NSN! THis is a fantastic shot--I love the swirl, and the colors. The cascade is also well exposed. It may be an optical illusion but this feels tilted to the right to me.

Again, welcome to NSN...can't wait to see more of your work displayed here!

Welcome to NSN.
Nice set of falls, good shutter speed, neat leaf swirls on the right side.

Having visited this location probably only a week or two before you were there, I like how all of the pine needles decorate the foreground rock. I like the colors and leaf swirl here. My only nit is that the rocks and falls themself appear a bit soft here.

I'd like to see alternate compositions of this lovely falls. I'm one of those strange people who isn't particularly fond of leaf swirls in water although this one is done well. The falls itself looks like it would provide many terrific compositions. Technically excellent as usual.
